Azorean wines come from the archipelago located in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, 1600 kilometres west of the Portuguese mainland. They are known for their unmistakable landscapes, their interaction with nature, the possibility of four seasons in one day, as well as their wines.

The colonisation took place in the middle of the 15th Century by the Franciscan Fathers, where Friar Pedro Gigante was responsible for introducing the indigenous grape varieties of the Azores.

The small dimension and dispersion of the vineyards, as well as the conduction system in "currais" (pens), where the vines are placed on the ground between stone walls, make Azorean wines the result of a demanding human action.

A unique terroir, where the climate of maritime characteristics gives rise to wines with marked freshness, salinity and minerality.
