Adega 23

Adega 23 was born out of the daring, determination and passion of Manuela Carmona, the doctor who returned to her origins and created the project from scratch in the south of the heterogeneous Beira Interior, just 10 kilometres from Alto Alentejo.

The vineyards, planted on schist soils, are worked sustainably and are under the influence of the Serra da Gardunha, where the wide temperature range allows for the retention of acidity, which is responsible for the minerality and freshness of the wines.

The modern winery, located in the centre of the vineyards, is now run by José Hipólito, after starting out with winemaker Rui Reguinga, where the indigenous Rufete and Siria grape varieties honour tradition.
