Antonio Madeira

Born in Paris and returning to his origins, António Madeira recovered the old high-altitude vines at the foot of the Serra da Estrela, part of the Dão region's heritage, focussing on creating "terroir" wines with minimal intervention.

The old vines, aged between 50 and 120 years and between 450m and 600m altitude, allow slow maturations and maintenance of the grapes' natural acidity, producing wines with a great identity, which are simply called DÃO, revealing the region's enormous potential.
