Murgas White Egana Cão
Grape varieties: Esgana Cão.
Vinification: Hand-picked, followed by gentle whole bunch pressing. We only used the free-run juice for this wine, which fermented in used 350-litre French oak barrels.
Aging: 11 months on fine lees with bâtonnage only during the first 2 months.
Colour: Citrus yellow.
Aroma: Combine the irreverent ‘personality’ of Esgana Cão with the characteristics instilled by the Atlantic influence and calcareous soil.
Flavour: Aromas contained in a mineral background, but it is in the tasting that irreverence, strength and depth stand out.
Serve: 10 to 12⁰
Consumption: Immediate or storage.
Harmonisation: Cod dishes, baked fish, white meats, soft cheeses, almond afternoon tea or apple afternoon tea.
Producer: Quinta das Murgas
Enology: Bernardo Cabral
