Principal Grande Reserva Red 2014
Grape varieties: 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Touriga Nacional, 20% Merlot.
Vinification: Manual harvest, destemming and crushing, transfer to temperature-controlled stainless steel vats where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place. Maceration for about 20 days.
Aging: 24 to 30 months in 225 litre French oak barrels (new and used), followed by 8 years in bottle.
Colour: Ruby.
Aroma: Aromas of ripe fruit, such as black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, complemented by elegant notes of spice, cedar and a hint of oak.
Flavour: Smooth, complex and very well-structured, with lively acidity, rich wild berry flavours and polished tannins, as well as exceptional complexity and depth.
Serve: 16 to 18⁰
Consumption: Immediate or guardianship (up to 20 years).
Harmonisation: Red meat and grilled meat.
