The 2014 Principal Grande Reserva Red is produced from the 61 hectares of the Colinas de São Lourenço. With aromas of ripe black fruit, complemented by elegant notes of spice, cedar and a subtle hint of oak, it is a smooth, complex and very well-structured wine, with lively acidity and polished tannins, as well as exceptional complexity and depth.

Principal Grande Reserva Red 2014

Grape varieties: 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Touriga Nacional, 20% Merlot.
Vinification: Manual harvest, destemming and crushing, transfer to temperature-controlled stainless steel vats where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place. Maceration for about 20 days.
Aging:  24 to 30 months in 225 litre French oak barrels (new and used), followed by 8 years in bottle.
Colour: Ruby.
Aroma: Aromas of ripe fruit, such as black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, complemented by elegant notes of spice, cedar and a hint of oak.
Flavour: Smooth, complex and very well-structured, with lively acidity, rich wild berry flavours and polished tannins, as well as exceptional complexity and depth.


Serve: 16 to 18⁰

Consumption: Immediate or guardianship (up to 20 years).


Harmonisation: Red meat and grilled meat.
