Principal Grande Reserva Red 2009
Grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional, Merlot.
Vinification: Manual harvest, destemming and crushing, transfer to temperature-controlled stainless steel vats where alcoholic and malolactic fermentation takes place. Maceration for about 20 days.
Aging: 24 to 30 months in 225 litre French oak barrels (new and used), followed by 8 years in bottle.
Colour: Ruby.
Aroma: Intense aromas of black plum, cedar, graphite and a hint of vanilla.
Flavour: Very full-bodied, with textured, grainy tannins. Vibrant acidity, full of layers and flavours that linger throughout the tasting. A very long finish, full of concentration.
Serve: 16 to 18⁰
Consumption: Immediate or guardianship (up to 20 years).
Harmonisation: Red meat and grilled meat.
