Catena Zapata is Argentina's most iconic producer, founded in 1902 by the Italian Nicola Catena and led today by Laura Zapata. Located in Mendonza, its vineyards, divided into several plots, are planted in the foothills of the Andes, between 950 and 1450 metres above sea level, where the continental climate and wide temperature range allow for long ripening.

Voted one of the Top 100 wineries in the world 13 times by Wine & Spirits, Catena Zapata has been recognised by the world's leading critics for its excellence.

Catena Zapata was responsible for carrying out the first major scientific clonal selection of the Malbec grape variety in Argentina, as well as cultivating small plots in different soils and altitudes, with the aim of favouring the most authentic expression of the terroir.
