IL Marroneto

IL Marroneto rises on the slopes of the Montalcino hills where Alessandro Mori planted his first vines in 1975, in a magnificent amphitheatre under soils of marine sediments, where the altitude and exposure provide the necessary temperature range to produce fresh, elegant wines.

Ignacio and Iacopo carry out organic viticulture with constant vigilance, based on a traditional, minimalist philosophy and avoiding intensive production. The practices in the vineyard extend to the winery, where the carefully selected grapes are vinified in 25 to 40hl oak casks, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 39 to 42 months, with the aim of expressing the Sangiovese variety to the full in its terroir.

After more than 40 years, it is regarded as one of the most prestigious and best-known historic wineries in Montalcino (Siena). This has only been possible thanks to the long-standing commitment and great passion that Alessandro Mori has always devoted to his work.
