Alves de Souza

Alves de Sousa is an important name in the Douro region, represented by five generations, but it was with civil engineer Domingos Alves de Sousa that the big transformation took place in the 1980s, when he stopped producing grapes for some of the best Port houses and started producing his own wines.

It is in the iconic Quinta da Gaivosa that we find the amphitheatre of the Vinha de Lordelo, as well as the Vinha do Abandonado at the top. Led by Tiago (Oenology) and Patrícia (Financial Management) Alves de Sousa, it is in the presence of Domingos that Alves de Sousa perpetuates its growth and affirmation.
