Tito´s Adega

Tito's Adega ‘CERCA DOS FRADES’ is the name given to a plot of land ceded by the population to the friars during their installation, at the behest of King Pedro III, in Santa Luzia on the island of Pico.

The vineyards were renovated and replanted in 2015 by founder Tito Silva, with the aim of recovering the region's heritage and creating a small production of wines with minimal intervention and expression of the terroir, where the volcanic soils and maritime climate provide unique conditions.

The renaissance of Pico Vinhateiro is marked by indigenous grape varieties. Arinto from the Azores has become the region's favourite, characterised by its citrus and slightly tropical aromas, as well as a very pronounced sea feeling. Terrantez, characterised by its floral aroma and unctuousness, is combined with Verdelho, where tropicality stands out. All the wines have great freshness, as well as being markedly saline.
