Casa Ferreirinha

A Casa Ferreirinha é parte do património vitivinícola da mais antiga Denominação de Origem do Mundo, o Douro. Intimamente ligada a Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira – “A Ferreirinha”-, que no séc. XIX liderou e desenvolveu a empresa familiar que se vira a tornar pioneira e líder nos vinhos não fortificados do Douro, com mais de 250 anos de história sempre em mãos familiares.

It was in the mid-20th century that Portugal's most iconic still wine, Barca Velha, was born at the hands of Francisco Nicolau de Almeida, in the vineyards of Quinta do Vale Meão in the Douro Superior, which was acquired in the late 1990s by the Olanzabal family, descendants of Ferreirinha.

Quinta da Leda and winemaker Luís Sottomayor are the gift of the iconic Casa Ferreirinha, where each wine represents part of the wine history of the Douro and Portugal.
