Barca Velha 2015 is a superior quality Douro wine, the symbol of Casa Ferreirinha, with the first edition in 1952 by Fernando Nicolau de Almeida. Made from a careful selection of grapes from the Upper Douro vineyards, it has notes of black fruit, spices and balsamic, as well as being intense with an extremely long finish.

    Description

    Barca Velha 2015

    Grape varieties: Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz.
    Aging: 18 months in French oak barrels.
    Colour: Deep ruby colour.
    Aroma: Very complex, with notes of spices, liquorice and balsamic, as well as black fruits such as blackberry and blackcurrant, and well-integrated wood.
    Flavour: Vibrant, lively acidity, firm, polished tannins, as well as notes of spices, black fruits and balsamic. Extremely long finish, great elegance and complexity.

    Serve: 16 to 18⁰
    Consumption: Immediate or storage.

    Harmonisation: Red meat, roast meat, game and strong cheeses.
