Viúva Gomes Ramisco Red 1969 is a Colares DOC, produced from ungrafted vines planted in the sandy soils near the Atlantic Ocean. An extremely rare wine, having matured for over 50 years, it reveals the full splendour of the Ramisco grape variety and the Atlantic terroir, with great aromatic complexity and surprising freshness.

    Viúva Gomes Ramisco Red DOC Colares 1965
    Grape varieties: Ramisco.
    Vinification: Cacho inteiro fermentado em balceiro.
    Aging: Cask of Portuguese chestnut and mahogany. Bottled in 1974, with the cork replaced in 2000.
    Colour: Brownish in color due to its long evolutionary history.
    Aroma: Aromas of great complexity, with notes of dried cherry and tobacco.
    Flavour: Earthy and briny, with a hint of freshness, as well as an elegant structure and still pronounced tannins.


    Serve: 14⁰ to 16⁰
    Consumption: Immediate or storage (decant carefully).

    Harmonisation: Excellent with rich game dishes and light red meats.
