Trás-os-Montes wine region is located in the north-eastern corner of Portugal, between plateaus and mountains, where the landscape changes rapidly along its length.
The region is divided into three sub-regions: Chaves, Valpaços and Planalto Mirandês.
From architecture to rupestrian engravings, from the conservation of the Iberian wolf to birdwatching, from almond landscapes to fruit trees, the characteristic old vines of Trás-os-Montes originate wines known for their originality and diversity.
The white wines are characterised by fruity aromas with light floral notes, and the red wines are intense, structured, fruity and of great balance.
