Quinta da Furada
Owned by the same family for at least seven generations, it is at Quinta da Furada that we find probably the oldest vineyards of the upper Douro vineyard. Resistant to the catastrophic devastation caused by phylloxera at the end of the 19th century, Quinta da Furada has a history of surprising resistance.
It was the effort, dedication and passion of its owner that made possible the production of the fascinating wines Pata D'urso. The tradition of hunting bears up to the 18th century in the mountains of Ventozello Novo, the name by which Quinta da Furada was described by the Baron of Forrester, was to offer the paw to the Bishop of Lamego. This ancient tradition would give name to the wines.
