Tenuta delle Terre Nere Montalto Etna Bianco is a wine produced from old vines planted in volcanic soils on the southern slope at an altitude of between 900 and 950 metres above sea level, consisting of deep, loose volcanic ash interspersed with small stones. The delicate and enveloping aromas, which blend orange blossom and lavender with fresh notes of iodine and lemon zest, are embraced by creamy hints of almond and white-fleshed fruit, displaying a lively and electric acidity. The whole is accompanied by a smooth texture, deep salinity and vibrant notes of green apple, as well as a long, focused finish with a mineral character.

Description

Tenuta delle Terre Nere Montalto Etna Bianco

Grape varieties: Carricante (old vines aged between 60 and 90 years, trained using the alberello method).
Vinification: Gentle pressing and fermentation at a controlled low temperature in used French oak casks/barrels.
Aging: 10 months during which it fermented.
Colour: A bright, pale straw yellow with golden highlights.
Aroma: A delicately floral nose with fresh notes of iodine and sea air, accompanied by intense nuances of lemon zest, apricot, white lavender and subtle hints of almond cream and white cocoa.
Flavour: Creamy, juicy and incredibly harmonious on the palate. It reveals a lively, electric acidity (‘Chablis Premier Cru style’), with distinct notes of green apple Granny Smith, an almost buttery mouthfeel and a finish characterised by a very mineral and salty texture.

Serve: 8 a 10⁰
Consumption: Immediate or storage.

Harmonisation: Oysters, white fish carpaccio or tartare, sashimi, sushi and salads.
