Proibido Garrafeira Red 2017

Márcio Lopes Proibido Garrafeira 2017 originates from old vines between 40 and 80 years old, from Vila Nova de Foz Côa, in the Upper Douro. Aged for seven years in seven different barrels, it has pronounced notes of black fruit on the nose with great intensity, as well as toasted and spicy notes. Balanced, with a very long body, it is persistent and has well-rounded tannins.

    Grape varieties: Old Vines.
    Vinification: The grapes were trodden by foot in a small press.
    Aging: 7 barrels aged for 7 years.
    Colour: Grenada.
    Aroma: Very intense black fruit on the nose, toasted notes and spices.
    Flavour: A well-balanced wine on the palate with a very long, persistent body and well-cleaned tannins.


    Serve: 10 to 12⁰
    Consumption: Immediate or storage (15 years).


    Harmonisation: Meat, strong cheeses, game and oven roasts.
