Insula Chão de Lava Pahoehoe do Pico 10 Years
Grape varieties: Arinto dos Açores, Verdelho, Terrantez do Pico and others.
Vinification: Gentle pressing of whole bunches, decanting after 24 hours of sedimentation, into stainless steel fermentation vats. Fermentation is interrupted with wine spirit.
Aging: Aged in used French oak barrels for 10 years.
Colour: Amber.
Aroma: Ten years of ageing ensure concentration and aromatic complexity, with raisins, molasses and whisky notes standing out.
Flavour: Complex, lingering flavours with just enough sweetness to soften a vibrant acidity.
Serve: 10 to 12⁰
Consumption: Immediate.
Harmonisation: With mature cheeses, dried fruits, smoked fish or desserts that are not too sweet.
