Mouchão
The name Mouchão goes hand in hand with Reynold's and the Alicante Bouschet grape variety.
It was at the end of the 19th century that the two professors from the University of Montpellier, brought by John Reynolds, planted the first vines of Alicante Bouschet and, together with their brother Raphael, built the family home and the buildings dedicated to agricultural activity.
Founded by the Reynolds family and taken care of by the Alabaça family, Herdade do Mouchão is a story of survival that withstood 10 years of post-expropriation occupation.
