Tarelo was born in the Azores on the island of Pico, combining local tradition with a contemporary and distinctive approach to winemaking.
Tarelo wines reflect the volcanic terroir unique to the Azores, showcasing the indigenous grape varieties Arinto dos Açores and Verdelho, which are grown in black volcanic soil.
The very limited production, including a rare fortified wine, positions itself as a symbol of excellence, Azorean authenticity, and respect for the extraordinary heritage of the vineyard landscape of Pico Island.
“Tarelo”, an expression from the Azores meaning “a serious and upright person”
