António Madeira Vinha da Serra Red
Grape varieties: Tinta Amarela (60%), Jaen (20%), Baga (9%), Tinta Pinheira (8%) and various old grape varieties.
Vinification: Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in a small vat, with little extraction. After pressing, it was transferred to a used French oak barrel where malolactic fermentation took place. No oenological products were added, except sulphur dioxide.
Aging: 18 months in 225l French oak barrels.
Colour: Ruby densa.
Aroma: Complex nose, granite, aromatic herbs, resins, fresh fruit and flowers, in a blend of great finesse.
Flavour: Great freshness and finesse, powdered granite, as well as ripe, crystalline fruit. Fine tannins, dense and deep, complex and mineral.
Serve: 16 to 18⁰
Consumption: Immediate or storage.
Harmonisation: Roast kid, grilled meat and cheeses from Serra da Estrela.
