Maquete Castelão Red
Grape varieties: Castelão.
Vinification: Total destemming for 1 old vat. Spontaneous fermentation in contact with the skins for 7 days, with the cap slightly submerged in order to control extraction. The skins were removed and pressed the following day.
Aging: 500-litre barrel used for 6 months.
Colour: Ruby open colour.
Aroma: On the nose, soft red fruit, as well as vegetal notes and some salinity.
Flavour: Refined, with fruit confirming the nose. A robust finish without earthy notes and light nuances of oak. Enveloping acidity and balanced throughout the tasting.
Serve: 12⁰ to 14⁰
Consumption: Immediate.
Harmonisation: A gastronomic wine that goes well with a variety of meat dishes, game and baked dishes.
